ICCP Boy Scout Troop 195
We were blessed with the honor of inaugurating the first ever Muslim Boy Scout of America (BSA) troop in Maryland. It would not have happened had it not been for the exuberance of former Eagle scout and active ICCP member, Br. Zayd Kanehl, who serves as the Troop Committee Chairman. Our Scoutmaster, Br. Abdul Karim Bromund, also has been instrumental in making this a successful endeavor for our boys, ages 11-17.
The leaders and boys have been camping, snow skiing, and hiking amongst other regular outdoor activities. They have also flown a small airplane, and travelled to summer camp with other DC Muslims and Egyptian scouts.
The following are a couple of informative videos, one about “Muslims in Scouting” and the other about the Summer camping program in which one of our Scouts, Amir Khan, shares his experience.
